What is a Millwright?

A millwright is a specialized tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and mechanical systems in industrial settings. The term “millwright” historically referred to individuals who built and maintained mills, but today, the role has expanded to encompass a wide range of industrial machinery. The M.J. Nester team has been employed to repair and install a variety of machinery, including conveyor systems, industrial ovens, mezzanines, and more.

Recent Projects

M.J. Nester recently installed a Fall Protection System and two gangway canopy systems for one of our customers. This structure was not fabricated by M.J. Nester; however, as an industrial millwright, M.J. Nester installed the system, including the concrete foundation. As Safety is always one of M.J. Nester’s top priorities, proper personal protective equipment and job safety analysis reports were completed daily and audited by our in-house safety team. Millwrights need to focus on Safety and Compliance, which M.J. Nester can do through our dedicated Safety Team.
